Nicholas Church is a museum and an ancient Byzantine Greek Church located in modern-day town of Demre, Antalya Province, Turkey. Its usage is dated from its 6th century construction until its final abandonment in 1923, when the remaining Greek natives of Demre were required to leave by the Population exchange between Greece and Turkey.

Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk celebrated the Divine Liturgy in Bari in the crypt of the Basilica of St Nicholas the Wonderworker. After the Litany of Fervent Supplication, Metropolitan Hilarion said a prayer for peace in Ukraine. At the conclusion of the service the archpastor delivered a homily, greeting the worshippers with the commemoration day of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called, whose name is traditionally associated with the preaching of the Gospel in the territory of the historical Rus’. By God’s grace, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated that day at the relics of St Nicholas the Wonderworker, the most venerated saint in the Russian Church.
